Dtours is a company with a very special focus. Our wish is not only to share South Africa's highlights with our clients, but also to introduce them to the rhythm and heartbeat of our Rainbow Nation, with its diverse cultures, great wildlife experiences and spectacularly varied landscapes. Not for nothing is South Africa called "a world in one country" and it is the best of this world that DTours wishes to share with its clients. Hence our name - we take "detours" from the normal beaten track to search for those deeper experiences, but always in appropriate comfort and luxury.

We specialise in the Eastern Cape and adjacent areas. These areas offer a great variety of experiences to visitors, and have the advantage of being completely malaria free. There is therefore no need to take anti-malaria precautions on any of our tours. An added advantage of operating in a limited area is that the daily distances travelled are reduced.

On this site are examples of the tours we are offering as standard, but as clients vary in their requirements and expectations, we also specialise in designing tours to meet these very requirements. We pride ourselves on giving each client personal attention, and we encourage you or your agent to contact us directly, to enable us to design the tour, as far as is achievable, according to what you require. This could include destinations beyond those normally offered.

The standard tours are offered in modules, which means that clients can decide to do just one of our tours, or they can combine tours depending on time and financial considerations. This also provides for linking tours with business trips, conferences and family visits, or even as an extension to a more conventional countrywide tour.

Dtours will ensure that the best appropriate accommodation is used for our clients. Depending on the tour, this will range from exclusive upmarket establishments to good accredited hotels and guesthouses. In rural situations the accommodation might be of a more rustic nature.
