This is a tour for those who wish to get close to the wildness of Africa. The route takes us through some of the most spectacular scenery in South Africa and then continues into the vastness of the Great Karoo. Historic towns, farm life and a very unusual "art gallery" are incorporated. The tour ends with a visit to one of the highlights of the Eastern Cape - the famous Addo Elephant National Park. |

the Footsteps of Mandela - a journey into rural South Africa

tour takes one into the heartland of Mandela country. We come face to
face with the early life of this great son of Africa and the realities
of the political struggle and experience the rural life and rich culture
of the amaXhosa people as we journey over the rolling hills of the
Transkei. The scenery is spectacular. The last day is spent relaxing
along the beautiful Wild Coast. |

The Maluti Route - a scenic route through the Eastern Free State and Lesotho
6 days (one day extra option to include Maletsunyane Falls)
This tour can be an extension of our Karoo Tour (Tour 2) - from day 5 (Gannahoek) or day 6 (Redcliffe) OR the Rock Art Tour (Tour 6).

This route takes us for a two-day (three day option to include Maletsunyane Falls) journey into the heart of the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho as we travel through the mountains into the remote rural areas. There is time to experience the warmth and culture of the Basotho people as well getting involved in some exciting adventures such as pony-trekking and 4 x 4 excursions. Back in South Africa, the route continues along the Maluti Mountains as we explore the picturesque border towns of the Eastern Free State and the magnificent Golden Gate National Park
It is also possible to extend this tour to include horse-trails or pony-trekking at Malealea Lodge. |

The World of the Ancient San - a Rock Art Tour

On this tour to some of the most spectacular sacred "art galleries" of the San (Bushman), one travels through very remote and beautiful parts of the region. Most of our time is spent in the north eastern highlands of the Eastern Cape. Many of these magnificent art panels are in caves and rock overhangs on farms and in the mountains and this tour does at times demand a certain level of fitness. However, where possible, arrangements can be made. |
